Role: Stores Assistant
Location: Woore
Rate: £12.71ph - 40 hours per week
Hours: 8am to 4:30pm
Our client is currently recruiting for a Stores Assistant to join a busy and fast paced warehouse team within a well established manufacturing environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous stores, warehouse or materials handling experience who is looking to join a stable business offering full training, ongoing development and genuine opportunities for progression.
As a Stores Assistant, you will play an important role in ensuring the smooth running of the warehouse and the efficient movement and storage of materials and products.
Responsibilities:
- Receiving, checking and storing incoming goods and materials
- Picking and preparing materials and products for production or dispatch
- Maintaining accurate stock records
- Using WMS systems and handheld scanning equipment
- Moving and handling materials safely around the warehouse
- Supporting the wider warehouse and manufacturing teams as required
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
- Following company procedures and health & safety requirements
This can be a physically demanding role, involving the handling and movement of the types of products manufactured on site, so candidates should be comfortable working in a hands‑on warehouse environment.
Skills and experience
- Previous experience in a stores, warehouse or materials handling role
- Experience within a manufacturing or distribution environment
- Good organisational and attention-to-detail skills
- Experience using WMS systems and handheld scanners - desirable
- A positive, flexible and team‑focused approach
- Good awareness of health & safety within a warehouse environment
- Counterbalance and/or Reach Truck certification is highly desirable, and candidates holding current certificates will be given preference.
