You'll join a specialist manufacturer of high-performance adhesive technologies used across high-speed production lines, working with major food & beverage and FMCG manufacturers to improve uptime, reduce waste, and optimise line performance.
The Role
- This is not a traditional sales job.
- You'll work directly on customer production lines, identifying the root causes of downtime, inefficiency, and poor performance, then recommending and implementing solutions that improve output and reliability.
- Diagnose issues on packaging lines (cartoners, labellers, case packers, etc.)
- Work 'lineside' to improve performance, reduce downtime, and optimise processes.
- Run trials and validate improvements on live production environments.
- Recommend upgrades, consumables, and system improvements.
- Produce technical reports and proposals based on real data and performance gains.
- Support implementation and ensure long-term success of solutions.
What You'll Be Working With
- Hot melt adhesive systems (e.g. Nordson, Valco, Meler, ITW)
- High-speed FMCG packaging equipment
- Labelling, carton sealing, and end-of-line systems
- Process improvements focused on OEE, cost reduction, and efficiency
What We're Looking For
- Background as a Service Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, or similar
- Experience within FMCG, food & beverage, or packaging machinery
- Strong fault-finding and understanding of production line equipment
- Comfortable working directly with customers on-site
- Interest in moving into a more consultative, solutions-led role
Why This Role
- Move beyond reactive maintenance into root cause problem-solving
- Ideal for engineers looking to progress off the tools while staying technical
- Less firefighting, more ownership of long-term solutions and improvements
- Clear progression into senior technical or commercial roles
- Strong earning potential with performance-related bonus
The Opportunity
This role suits an engineer who enjoys solving problems properly, working closely with customers, and wants to progress without losing their technical edge.
