Our client is looking for an experienced Pump Technician to join a growing team within the water industry. This is a hands-on role involving the maintenance, repair, and installation of pumping equipment across clean and/or wastewater sites. You will play a key part in ensuring the reliable operation of critical water infrastructure, supporting both planned maintenance and reactive breakdowns.

Responsibilities include:

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on pumps, motors, and associated equipment
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults on pumping systems
  • Respond to breakdowns and emergency callouts as required
  • Install, commission, and test new pump systems and equipment
  • Work on-site at water treatment works, pumping stations, and related facilities
  • Complete accurate maintenance records and service reports
  • Ensure all work is carried out in line with health, safety, and environmental standards
  • Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and site operators to ensure efficient operations

Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience as a Pump Technician or in a similar mechanical/electrical maintenance role
  • Strong understanding of pumps, valves, motors, and rotating equipment
  • Basic electrical knowledge (fault finding, wiring, testing preferred)
  • Experience within the water industry or similar utilities sector (desirable)
  • Ability to read technical drawings and schematics
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • EUSR Water Hygiene card
