We are searching for an experienced Fanuc CNC Programmer. My client is a well-established supplier of CNC machine tools and robot automation cells, selling to manufacturing businesses throughout the UK and Ireland. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in CNC programming and be available to stay away during the week as required. Experience in robot programming is desirable but not essential - we are looking for someone eager to learn and develop automation skills on the job.

Responsibilities:

  • The role is project-based requiring working away during the week on customer sites in the UK and Ireland. Potentially 2-3 weeks in a row, home at weekends.
  • To set and program CNC machines and industrial robots within the factory for factory acceptance testing.
  • Customer witness testing and training.
  • Set up automation cells at customer sites and conduct on-site customer acceptance testing.
  • Troubleshooting and optimizing performance. Training will be provided as required on Robot programming, PLC programming, and automation software development.

Requirements:

  • Available to stay away Monday to Friday as required.
  • Fanuc programming experience is essential.
  • Siemens or Heidenhain experience is beneficial.
  • A time-served engineer with at least 5 years’ experience as a CNC programmer, turning and milling machine tools applications.
  • A qualified engineer with a recognised apprenticeship.
  • Driving license with no more than 3 points.

Package:

  • Salary up to £50K.
  • Hybrid company car, fuel card, company credit card.
  • 25 days holiday + BH.
  • 8% pension, private medical, life assurance.
  • Overnight bonus after 4 nights per calendar month.
