Our client is looking to recruit an experienced CNC Sliding Head Machinist to join its skilled machining team. The company manufactures high precision machined components for a wide range of demanding industries including aerospace, defence, medical, motorsport, and oil.
You will play a key role in producing complex, high tolerance components using sliding head technology.
Responsibilities:
- Programme, set and operate CNC Sliding Head machines.
- Manufacture precision components to tight tolerances and exact customer specifications.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Select tooling, optimise programmes and improve machining efficiency.
- Carry out first-off inspections and support ongoing quality requirements.
- Work closely with the production and quality teams to ensure on-time delivery and continuous improvement.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, safety and quality throughout the machine shop.
Skills and experience:
- Proven experience programming, setting and operating Star Sliding Head CNC machines.
- Strong understanding of CNC programming and machining principles.
- Experience producing precision components within a manufacturing environment.
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- A methodical approach to work.
