My client is looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join their busy team. This role involves producing high-quality schematic designs, supporting manufacturing processes, and collaborating closely with clients and internal teams to deliver efficient, compliant, and innovative automation solutions.
Responsibilities
- Produce schematic designs for client approval using Eplan and AutoCAD Electrical
- Ensure full supporting documentation is created to enable efficient manufacturing while meeting client requirements
- Liaise with clients and suppliers to deliver optimal performance and cost-effective design solutions
- Ensure designs comply with current legislation, safety standards, and best practices
- Provide technical support (internal, external, and workshop-based)
- Participate in site attendance and commissioning activities
- Work with PLCs, HMIs, VSDs, and other control systems
- Collaborate effectively with team members and support knowledge sharing and mentoring
Skills & Experience
- BTEC / ONC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent industrial automation qualification
- Panel design, assembly, and wiring experience
- Knowledge of PLC programming, software design, and system integration
- Strong understanding of the electrical/automation industry and related disciplines
- Familiarity with VSD and soft start technologies
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, compliance, and industry standards
- Understanding of SCADA systems, networks, and telemetry
