An excellent opportunity has arisen for a practical and proactive Building Facilities Technician to join a busy facilities and maintenance team supporting a specialist laboratory and office environment in Oxford. This is a varied, hands-on role that would suit someone with strong maintenance, facilities, estates, building services, or multi-skilled trade experience. You will play a key role in ensuring buildings, laboratories, equipment, and associated services are maintained to a high standard while supporting ongoing refurbishment and improvement projects.

Responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks.
  • Maintaining and repairing building fabric, including basic carpentry, decorating, plumbing, and general repairs.
  • Supporting refurbishment, fit-out, and improvement projects.
  • Installing, moving, and modifying office and laboratory furniture.
  • Assisting with the installation and modification of mechanical and building services, including water, compressed air, gas, extraction, and ventilation systems.
  • Supporting the installation and relocation of specialist equipment.
  • Handling and distributing consumables, including gas cylinders, dry ice, and liquid nitrogen.
  • Assisting with waste management and disposal procedures in line with health and safety requirements.
