We are recruiting for an Assistant Engineering Manager to join a major heavy manufacturing site near Drogheda. This is a senior maintenance leadership role, responsible for managing day-to-day engineering operations, maximising plant availability, leading maintenance teams and supporting major shutdowns, overhauls and engineering projects.
The Role:
- Manage mechanical and electrical maintenance teams, including supervisors, planners and tradespeople
- Lead safe working practices and drive continuous improvement across site maintenance operations
- Plan and support preventative and predictive maintenance activity
- Manage maintenance-related projects from design through to installation
- Oversee contractors, plant hire resources and associated costs
- Support the planning and delivery of major shutdowns and plant overhauls
- Work closely with production, operations, safety and senior management teams
- Deputise for the Engineering Manager when required
About You:
- Level 8 or 9 qualification in Mechanical Engineering or similar
- Minimum 5 years' experience in engineering, maintenance or plant leadership
- Background in heavy industry, manufacturing, cement, aggregates, quarrying, chemicals, power, or similar environments
- Strong leadership, technical and people management skills
- Experience managing costs, contractors and engineering projects
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
Package:
- €45,000 - €65,000 salary
