Permanent Nights | 4-Day Week | Heavy Engineering

Our client is looking for an experienced CNC Machinist to join a busy engineering environment working on large, one-off components. The role involves programming, setting and operating an Asquith Butler Elgamill with Fanuc control, with offline programming available using Cimco CAD/CAM. You'll be machining customer-supplied castings and fabrications, with components weighing up to 60 tonnes, so this is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in heavy engineering, large-component machining or complex one-off work.

Responsibilities include:

  • Programme, set and operate CNC milling machinery.
  • Work primarily on one-off and bespoke components.
  • Machine a wide range of materials, from aluminium through to Super Duplex.
  • Work from engineering drawings and determine the most effective machining approach.
  • Use offline programming where required.
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy, quality and safe working.

Skills and experience:

  • Experienced CNC Miller with programming, setting and operating experience.
  • Strong Fanuc knowledge.
  • Background in heavy engineering, large-scale machining or subcontract/jobbing work.
  • Comfortable machining castings and fabrications.
  • Able to work independently on complex, one-off components.
  • Experience with large CNC milling machines would be highly advantageous.

Shift pattern: 4 x 12-hour night shifts, commencing each Monday at 6:00pm.
