WPS is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our team in Halton, leading the delivery of retrofit and planned social housing works across occupied properties. This role suits a Project Manager who understands the complexities of working in resident‑facing environments and has a strong background in retrofit and planned maintenance programmes within social housing. Due to the nature of the role, candidates have the option to work from our offices in Halton, Oldham, or Liverpool.
The Role
As Project Manager, you will take full responsibility for the end‑to‑end delivery of retrofit and planned works projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to a high standard of quality and customer satisfaction. You will work closely with site teams, commercial colleagues, clients, and resident‑focused teams to deliver works with minimal disruption and a strong customer‑first approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage planned social housing works from mobilisation to completion
- Oversee programme delivery, budgets, quality and H&S compliance
- Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders
- Maintain strong client relationships and provide regular progress updates
- Ensure resident engagement and customer service standards are upheld
- Identify and manage risks, issues and change throughout the project lifecycle
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Project Manager within retrofit and planned social housing works
- Strong understanding of working in occupied properties
- Experience and understanding of PAS2035:2023 and energy efficiency measures
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills
- Confident communicator with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders
- Commercially aware with strong programme and cost control experience
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel locally
