Business Analyst – Cloud Migration & Transformation
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced
Business Analyst to join a major Cloud Migration & Transformation programme.
This role will be instrumental in bridging the gap between business and technical teams, ensuring that application migration initiatives are successfully planned, delivered, and aligned with business objectives.
You will work closely with stakeholders across infrastructure, networking, security, architecture, and business functions to gather requirements, assess applications, support migration planning, and drive successful cloud adoption.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, analyse, and document business and technical requirements for cloud migration projects.
- Conduct application discovery and assessment activities to understand existing environments and dependencies.
- Identify infrastructure, networking, security, compliance, and integration requirements.
- Document current-state and future-state processes, architectures, and business workflows.
- Facilitate workshops and stakeholder meetings across business and technical teams.
- Translate business needs into functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, and process documentation.
- Support migration planning, testing, cutover, business readiness, and post‑migration activities.
- Identify, assess, and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Maintain stakeholder engagement and provide regular project communications and status updates.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, project managers, and operational teams to ensure successful migration outcomes.
- Support governance, compliance, and change management activities throughout the migration lifecycle.
- Proven experience working as a Business Analyst on cloud migration, application migration, or cloud transformation programmes.
- Strong requirements gathering, analysis, and documentation skills.
- Experience conducting application discovery and assessment workshops.
- Understanding of infrastructure components including servers, storage, networking, databases, and cloud platforms.
- Knowledge of security, compliance, and risk management principles.
- Experience mapping business processes and creating current-state and future-state models.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Experience supporting testing, cutover, and business readiness activities.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities in a complex environment.
- Experience working with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud migration programmes.
- Knowledge of migration strategies such as Rehost, Replatform, Refactor, Repurchase, Retire, and Retain.
- Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies.
- Experience within large‑scale enterprise transformation programmes.
- Relevant Business Analysis or Cloud certifications (BCS, CBAP, Azure, AWS, etc.).
