Are you an experienced finance leader ready to make a significant impact? Liberty Group seek a Group Financial Controller to take charge of our finance, payroll, and processing functions, leading a team of 25 professionals. This is a pivotal role where you’ll ensure robust financial governance, accurate reporting and drive strategic improvements across the group.
Your Role
- Lead the group finance, payroll, and processing teams, fostering a culture of excellence and compliance.
- Oversee monthly financial close processes, ensuring accurate consolidated balance sheets and management accounts.
- Govern balance sheet reconciliations and maintain strong valuation processes for all accounts.
- Harmonise accounting policies across Liberty Group and align with Wates Property Services.
- Manage intercompany consolidation, annual audits, and statutory accounts production.
- Ensure compliance with all business taxes (VAT, CIS, IR35, PAYE, etc.) and make key tax-related decisions.
- Oversee payroll and processing functions for timely and accurate operations.
- Drive key business improvement projects, including system implementations and transitions.
- Manage treasury functions and support transactions related projects.
What we need from you
- Qualified ICAEW or ACCA Accountant with at least 8 years post-qualification experience.
- Proven track record of leading sizeable finance teams.
- Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards, tax compliance, and financial controls.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting software.
- Exceptional decision making abilities and a proactive approach to problem solving.
