Drive growth. Shape strategy. Win complex FM deals. We’re looking for a high‑calibre Business Development Manager to join our Growth team and play a pivotal role in expanding our Facilities Management business. This isn't a “sit back and manage a pipeline” role – it's about creating opportunities, building relationships at senior level, and converting high‑value, complex deals across Hard FM. You’ll join a motivated and supportive growth team with a clear mandate to win. WPS FM is a key strategic priority for the wider Wates Group, with real backing, investment and senior‑level focus behind our ambitions. As we scale, you’ll have the space, support and platform to make a tangible impact, shaping our pipeline, influencing strategy and contributing directly to a high‑growth part of the business.

The Opportunity

You’ll lead the identification, development and conversion of strategic opportunities across multiple channels, including direct client engagement, frameworks and competitive tenders. Working closely with operational leaders, bid teams and clients, you’ll shape winning strategies, create compelling propositions, and ensure a seamless transition from win to delivery. This role is critical in driving our next phase of growth across key sectors and national accounts.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Proactively originate and convert new business opportunities in the Hard FM market
  • Build and influence relationships with clients, consultants and key stakeholders
  • Develop robust pipelines aligned to strategic growth sectors
  • Shape bids – defining win themes, value propositions and commercial positioning
  • Lead client engagement throughout the sales lifecycle
  • Use Salesforce to drive disciplined, data‑led pipeline management
  • Represent WPS in the market and build a strong industry network

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven track record of winning Hard FM contracts
  • Strong understanding of how to position and sell in a competitive FM market
  • Commercially astute with the ability to influence at senior stakeholder level
  • A proactive, opportunity‑led mindset – comfortable leading from the front
  • Experience of managing pipelines, bids and strategic opportunities end‑to‑end
  • Confident communicator with strong presentation and relationship skills
  • Degree qualified or equivalent experience

Why Join WPS FM?

  • Be part of a high‑performing growth function with real influence on strategy
  • Work on complex, high‑value national opportunities
  • Flexible working with strong support and collaboration
  • Clear opportunity to progress within a growing business
  • A values‑led organisation that prioritises partnership, trust and delivery

Make your impact. If you’re driven by growth, thrive in a competitive environment, and want to shape the future of FM, we want to hear from you. Apply now and be part of our journey.
