We have a fantastic opportunity for a Section Manager to join our Responsive Maintenance team, delivering repairs and maintenance services to our social housing partner across the Barnsley area. This is a key leadership role where you will manage a team of operatives and subcontractors, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and to a high standard while keeping customer satisfaction at the heart of everything you do.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of operatives delivering responsive repairs and maintenance
  • Ensure works are completed within KPI targets, timescales and quality standards
  • Carry out pre- and post-inspections and provide technical guidance
  • Plan and programme works to maximise productivity and efficiency
  • Support resolution of complex repairs and escalations
  • Build strong relationships with client representatives and residents
  • Ensure adherence to health & safety and company standards
  • Provide coaching, support and development to the team
  • Monitor performance and drive continuous improvement

Essential

  • Experience in a supervisory or management role within repairs & maintenance
  • Background in social housing or property maintenance
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • SSSTS or SMSTS qualification

Desirable

  • Trade background (e.g. carpentry, plumbing, multi-trade)
  • Experience working on responsive repairs contracts
  • Knowledge of KPIs and service delivery standards
