About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a Cemetery Operative to support the delivery of a respectful and professional bereavement service. This is a hands-on outdoor role responsible for preparing graves, maintaining cemetery grounds and assisting during burial services.
The role requires someone physically fit, reliable and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, while also being sensitive and professional when working around bereaved families.
- Operating plant and grounds maintenance equipment including diggers, dumpers, mowers and strimmers
- Maintaining cemetery grounds (grass cutting, hedge trimming, planting, pruning, weed control)
- Assisting with directing mourners during burial services
- Driving vehicles between cemetery sites
Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
- Experience with manual digging or grounds maintenance is a must.
- Experience using plant machinery such as diggers, dumpers, mowers or strimmers is a must.
- Physically fit and able to perform manual work
