WPRG have an opportunity for HGV Class 1 Drivers to work on a permanent basis for our client based in Bedfordshire. Our client is one of the UK's premier hire companies. You will be responsible for the delivery and collection of plant equipment (mainly telehandlers) from customer sites, which will be recorded on a PDA system. You must ensure all products are delivered and collected safely and meet the expected quality.

Your HGV Class 1 role involves:

  • Delivering and collecting plant equipment and logging all activity on a PDA system (including photographing machinery on delivery and collection).
  • Ensuring Tacho readings are up to date and rest breaks are taken in accordance with driving regulations.
  • Completing and recording vehicle checks daily, minimum of 20 minutes per truck and trailer per day.
  • Helping increase our NPS (Net Promoter Score) by providing an excellent standard of professionalism and customer service at all times.
  • Complying with Health and Safety Regulations regarding the loading and off-loading of Plant Equipment.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of the exterior and interior of the vehicle, providing a professional image to our customers at all times.
  • Using the Driver app so the customer can be notified prior to delivery and collection.

Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • LGV Licence category C + CE.
  • Driver DIGI Card.
  • Up to date CPC training.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal).
  • Demonstrate a full and varied knowledge of all plant.
  • Good spoken and written English.
  • Confident and flexible attitude.
  • Smart appearance.
  • Able to go the extra mile and step up for customers and teammates.
  • Ability to stay cool under pressure; manage your emotions, bounce back stronger, and show resilience.
  • Exceptional professional conduct with colleagues and customers.

Desirable:

  • CSCS Card.
  • Competent in the loading and unloading of heavy plant equipment.

Salary: £15.00 per hour - £40,950 per year. Overtime paid at time and a quarter.

Full Time Information:

Hours: Full-Time, 52.5 hours per week / 06:00am - 17:00pm.
