About the Nursery

Our client operates a well-regarded nursery offering:

  • Number of Childcare Staff: 14
  • Total Places for Children: 50
  • Age Range: 0 years 9 months to 5 years 0 months
  • Opening Times: Monday – Friday: 08:00 – 18:00
  • Closed: Bank Holidays, 1 week at Christmas & 2 weeks in Summer

The nursery provides a warm, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children are supported to thrive and develop through engaging, play-based learning.

The Role

As Deputy Nursery Manager, you will work closely with the Nursery Manager to support the day-to-day running of the setting. You will play a key role in ensuring high standards of care, education, safeguarding, and compliance are consistently maintained.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Nursery Manager with operational leadership
  • Leading and motivating a team of 14 childcare professionals
  • Ensuring compliance with EYFS and safeguarding requirements
  • Supporting staff development, supervision, and training
  • Building strong partnerships with parents and carers
  • Acting as Manager in the Manager’s absence

Requirements

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years (Level 5 or above desirable)
  • Previous experience in a senior or supervisory role within a nursery
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • A passion for delivering high-quality early years education and care
