WPR are working with a London based insurance business looking to secure an Interim Financial Controller. The client would preferably look to find a candidate with a strong technical background and a candidate from an insurance audit background. Team management and ability to mentor team members. The role will be a 12 month fixed term contract and you will need to be able to start at short notice.

About the Role

As an Interim Financial Controller, you will play a key role in leading finance transformation initiatives and managing finance teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead group-wide finance transformation initiatives, including operating model redesign, process optimisation, ledger conversion, and reporting enhancement.
  • Manage onshore and offshore finance teams.
  • Oversee financial control, SOX compliance, statutory reporting, and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Direct preparation of financial statements under GAAP, including framework reconciliations.
  • Automate core financial reporting processes to improve efficiency, scalability, and management insight.
  • Manage the group month-end close and lead the annual external audit process with senior stakeholders and auditors.

Qualifications

  • Strong technical background and experience in insurance audit. CA, ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified is essential.
