Role Summary and Impact
The MFG team is seeking an experienced and proactive
Senior Data Governance Analyst to join our global Data Governance team.
This pivotal role will be responsible for driving quality assurance oversight on critical business processes where data is collected, stored, transformed, or used.
You will take ownership of identifying, analyzing, and resolving complex data quality issues, leading coordination efforts with internal and external teams.
As a Senior Analyst, you will also independently manage and contribute significantly to strategic Data Governance initiatives, helping to define and implement best practices across the organization.

- Lead the end-to-end delivery of weekly dashboards that evaluate datasets for quality and accuracy, providing actionable insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Actively assist and contribute to the development efforts in building and enhancing dashboards that evaluate datasets for quality and accuracy.
- Drive and oversee data cleansing efforts, including the identification, assessment, and proactive resolution of complex and systemic data quality issues.
- Engage with stakeholders and the internal Data Governance team to proactively address root causes of poor data quality and recommend sustainable improvements.
- Independently execute and manage business-as-usual (BAU) tasks derived from ongoing Data Governance projects, ensuring operational excellence and continuous improvement.
- Act as a primary point of contact and trusted data expert, collaborating closely with cross-functional stakeholders to troubleshoot intricate data quality errors and facilitate timely, robust issue resolution.
- Develop and implement frameworks to continuously monitor and report on the progress of data quality improvements, translating metrics into strategic insights and identifying trends.
- Proactively identify areas for process and tool enhancement, leading the development and implementation of innovative solutions to significantly uplift overall data quality, efficiency, and scalability.
- Champion the importance of data excellence and actively engage cross-discipline teams to uplift data literacy across the business.
- Develop, document, and enforce comprehensive data processes, standards, and policies to foster a robust culture of data excellence and compliance.
- Take ownership of key components of internal or client projects and drive them to completion.
- Lead and actively contribute to various Data Governance projects and initiatives (such as Data Quality Stewardship and Taxonomy), taking responsibility for specific workstreams or deliverables as required.
- When necessary, draft client communications and presentations for internal review before distribution.
Skills and Experience
- Required
- Progressive experience in a data analysis, data quality, or data governance role, ideally within a complex data environment.
- Strong command of written and spoken English
- Strong, independent problem-solving skills, coupled with a highly methodical and analytical approach to complex data challenges.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a meticulous approach to work, consistently ensuring data accuracy, reliability, and completeness
- Advanced fluency in SQL and Python, or similar programming languages, for complex data manipulation, modelling, automation, and analysis
- Proficiency with Google Cloud Platform, etc.
- Ability to work effectively and independently, including managing tasks across staggered time zones
- Expert proficiency in Google Sheets and/or Excel, especially with macros, App Script, VBA, etc.
- Proven experience with data quality, data governance, or data hygiene practices, demonstrating a deep understanding of data lifecycle management.
- Desired
- Previous experience working with a media agency, consultancy, martech company, or similar
- Basic project management skills (e. g., how to use JIRA or similar tools, task prioritization, agile)
- Experience with various BI/visualization tools such as Looker, Data Studio, Tableau, or similar platforms
- Prior experience mentoring junior analysts or leading small data-focused initiatives with limited supervision
- Previous exposure to ETL tools such as dbt and Git Lab
- Exposure to writing prompts and interpreting responses from Large Language Models (LLMs) for data-related tasks
