Role Summary and Impact
The role exists to support a new client win and a growing digital media specialist team where we are looking for an experienced Biddable Account Manager (Paid Search and Ecommerce) who will play an instrumental role in further developing our offering by supporting the ongoing client engagement, managing key campaign activity for the client and supporting the Digital Lead and Account Director to implement the strategic vision of the account and team.
The candidate will report to the Digital Lead though will work consistently with the Account Director.
Two additional team members will sit within this portion of the team and will directly support this role.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience of successfully planning, executing and optimising Paid Search and Ecommerce campaigns and will need to demonstrate knowledge of native platform suppliers and third‑party providers, as well as developing an understanding of their available products and services.
- Campaign Management
- Develop comprehensive media plans and responses to briefs that align with client objectives and KPIs, clearly articulating the rationale for proposed campaign tactics (channels, budget, audience, formats, etc.) and presenting these back to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Set up Paid Search and Ecommerce campaigns end‑to‑end across all relevant platforms, using advanced features such as bid rules and third‑party optimisation/creative/measurement tools, and work with junior team members to assist them with this task as necessary.
- Ensure regular quality assurance checks are undertaken by everyone working on the account to meet defined best‑practice standards.
- Monitor campaign performance and pacing to ensure all activity delivers as expected, troubleshooting and optimising campaigns in order to improve performance as necessary.
- Produce detailed and accurate campaign performance reports in line with agreed client cadence, often in Microsoft Excel and Power Point, and lead client calls to present results, insights and next steps as necessary.
- Write performance commentary that delivers valuable insight and recommendations to clients; identify trends and recommend actions on platform to capitalise/mitigate these trends, working with junior team members to maintain consistent standards.
- Produce end‑of‑campaign reporting, quarterly/annual reviews and analyses for standalone projects.
- Effectively manage your and your team’s designated Search and Ecommerce accounts, ensuring ongoing and timely optimisation, proactively seeking tactical and strategic optimisation opportunities, and forecasting while working with the AD and Digital Lead to devise campaign strategy and translate this into delivery.
- Ensure adherence to channel best practices for clients and contribute to the development of evolving best‑practice.
- Client & Partner Management
- Develop strong relationships with your client, team members and key suppliers, leading team communications with these stakeholders; possess expert knowledge of client and agency structures.
- Foster a good working relationship across all client teams to facilitate flawless execution of plans and build rapport to become a trusted advisor.
- Have strong knowledge of the client sector/industry which is shared to build strategies and plans; identify strategic issues and raise questions to help stakeholders explore and understand their wider business challenges.
- Build and maintain relationships with key media partners including Google, Microsoft and Amazon.
- People Management
- Work with your line manager to ensure the effective management of more junior team members, monitoring and prioritising workloads to meet deadlines.
- Communicate clearly and in a timely manner with internal and external stakeholders across email, chat, video and in‑person, leading presentations where necessary.
- Attend regular internal meetings and training sessions to contribute to the paid search/ecommerce community and wider client team, leading by example to motivate and encourage less experienced colleagues.
- Assist with the recruitment process for the immediate and wider team, attending interviews and acting as an ambassador for the team to potential candidates.
- Operational Excellence
- Identify opportunities to test and innovate; present these opportunities to stakeholders and secure client backing.
- Work with the line manager to develop and implement testing/learning agendas for clients that drive clear and actionable insights across each platform.
- Collaborate with other channel specialists to ensure activity complements and enhances the wider marketing mix.
- Ensure accurate and timely fulfilment of mandatory agency finance processes, working with junior team members to follow processes, enabling prompt payment/invoicing and minimising finance queries.
Skills and Experience
- Experience working in a digital marketing or agency‑based role, with a proven track record of working with clients or external stakeholders.
- Paid Search expertise with current certifications; excellent knowledge of bid management, core PPC technology platforms, data analysis and understanding of the strategic and tactical application of paid search and digital marketing in general.
- Ecommerce experience across platforms such as Amazon DSP, AMS and Google Shopping, with a thorough understanding of campaign optimisation for improved ROAS; extensive experience in campaign setting‑up, management and optimisation across both channels.
- Leads and promotes continuous innovation, and test & learn opportunities for the team and clients.
- Creates a positive climate to drive team performance whilst motivating others to strive for continuous improvement.
- Forms strong relationships and feels comfortable presenting to clients and leading calls as required.
- Collaborative, friendly and with a can‑do attitude.
- Experience in line‑managing individuals and/or helping to train others; able to lead and manage hybrid teams located in different markets.
