What does Senior Digital Project Manager do at WPP Production?
Senior Digital Project Manager is a super-organised, adept multi-tasker who is accountable for end-to-end project delivery within marketing production. They oversee delivery of full campaigns from coordinating ingest and master set up, to technical consultation with Tech Leads, and guidance on specific adaptation and localisation projects led by the rest of the team. Senior Digital Project Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping WPP’s evolution toward AI-enabled production. In addition to managing digital campaign production clients, the role is responsible for coordination and delivery of AI and automation-powered initiatives, including WPP Open Pilots, Production Studio demos, proofs of concept, and innovation workstreams. This requires the ability to translate strategic ambitions into actionable delivery plans, bridging creative, technical, and operational teams to ensure that new technologies are deployed effectively and responsibly. Reporting into one of our Digital Programme Managers, the Senior Digital Project Manager oversees a portfolio of projects and a team of Project Managers, ensuring that all work is delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards of quality and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders and clients, facilitating communication related to end-to-end marketing campaign delivery, technical concepts and project status.
- Lead initiatives to construct briefs, ensuring all requisite information is captured before project initiation.
- Lead the end-to-end project management of AI initiatives, from scoping and planning to execution and delivery, specifically leveraging WPP Open to build and deploy AI-powered production and agentic workflows solutions.
- Oversee production pipeline, monitor team availability and utilisation, and ensure that efficiencies are maintained, and risks are mitigated.
- Line-manage project managers across locations to ensure successful delivery of projects.
- Manage and optimise internal workflows for technical processes to enhance productivity.
- Manage a diverse range of technical tasks, prioritising time and resources for optimal project delivery.
Requirements - successful candidate will have:
- A minimum of 4+ years of marketing production project management experience, particularly within technical or digital display environments, media experience a plus.
- Strong technical knowledge and understanding of digital display ads, enabling effective communication with production teams and clients.
- Basic understanding of dynamic (DCO) and templated development methodologies for digital media.
- Connected TV experience a plus.
- Experience in delivering expansive campaigns across multiple markets and languages as well as multistakeholder management experience are desirable.
- Experience working within a virtual team environment and managing globally distributed project teams.
- Strong leadership skills to manage matrix reporting and drive cross-functional team changes.
