The Retail Content Management organization at WPP Production is responsible for publishing creative assets, experiences, and critical content to our client’s retail applications and platforms across the globe. The Senior Content Manager serves as a strategic publishing lead within the WPP Production Content Management organization, supporting global internal and external communication programs. The candidate will manage day‑to‑day distribution and allocation of work across the content management team, ensuring delivery excellence during high‑visibility launches, improving processes, training, and serving as a liaison between WPP Production and our client partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Own complex publishing workflows across multiple content lines and serve as a subject‑matter expert within these workflows.
- Balance and ingest work briefs, allocating and distributing across the team and maintaining SLA deliveries to the client.
- Lead execution for high‑priority launches and multi‑region go‑lives.
- Act as first‑line escalation support for publishing, translation, and CMS/LMS issues.
- Identify risks early and provide internal and external partners with solutions.
- Maintain deep working knowledge of client’s application and platforms and become an expert to support team members with the ability to troubleshoot issues.
- Contribute with process improvements, documentation, workflow design and provide feedback and opportunities for efficiencies.
- Demonstrate ownership and proactive risk handling.
Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience in web production or content management.
- 2+ years mentoring or leading team members (formal or informal).
- Deep understanding of enterprise CMS/LMS environments.
- Experience managing localization workflows across GEOs.
- Strong troubleshooting ability across CMS, translation, and publishing systems.
- Demonstrated ability to operate in ambiguous, fast‑moving environments.
- Experience improving documentation, workflows, or internal tooling.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities under launch deadlines.
- Strong cross‑functional communication skills and experience working with clients.
- Experience partnering with offshore or global teams.
Preferred
- Experience with global product launches.
- Experience working across multiple time zones.
- Familiarity with HTML, JSON, or CMS source structure.
