What does a UK Risk & Controls Manager do at WPP Production?
The Risk & Controls Manager strengthens WPP Production’s UK financial control environment and governance framework, ensuring financial reporting controls are well‑designed, effective, and scalable across the UK production business.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluates new, enhanced, and/or revised ICFR in‑scope processes to ensure proper controls are established or continue to be present, control gaps or weaknesses are identified and recommends proper controls required to meet ICFR and audit guidelines.
- Assists with the development of the SOX process flows, narratives, risk and control matrices of business processes, and information technology platforms relevant to financial reporting.
- Conducts or participates in walkthroughs and other meetings with process and control owners to ensure compliance with control guidelines.
- Evaluates the operational effectiveness of entity‑level controls and business process key controls in accordance with ICFR testing guidance.
- Exhibits a strong understanding of business risks, controls, and testing methodologies as they relate to auditing of financial reporting and SOX controls.
- Identifies opportunities to strengthen controls and improve operational efficiency and productivity.
- Manages and drives solutions for stronger controls, and in support of risk and/or regulatory compliance related initiatives which may include oversight of procedures/process, document governance, risk control self‑assessments, procedure governance, and control design.
- Assists with translating control deficiencies into action plans and provides recommendations to enhance governance practices in alignment with risk and compliance frameworks.
- Directly liaises with auditors to schedule and co‑ordinate audits and ensure timely delivery of samples, responses to queries and managing portal information.
