Location: Global (London)
Reports to: Global Head of VFX
Business Group: WPP Production
Function: Global Product, Engineering & Intelligent Production
Model: Multi-market, hybrid (supporting global agencies and client teams)
Role Overview
The Product Owner – GACE is the strategic and operational owner of WPP Production’s internal Generative AI Content Engine, a core platform designed to accelerate content creation across WPP agencies and global clients. GACE powers the creation, transformation, and optimization of text, images, video, and multimodal assets—integrating LLMs, diffusion models, creative automation, and production-grade workflows. The Product Owner ensures that GACE evolves into a scalable, secure, compliant, and differentiating technology capability for WPP Production and WPP.
You will translate creative, production, operational, and engineering needs into a clear product roadmap that balances innovation with enterprise-grade delivery. The role requires fluency in generative AI technologies, content production workflows, and cross-agency collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Vision & Strategy
- Own the roadmap, and evolution of GACE across WPP Production and WPP agencies.
- Define a product strategy aligned to real business needs: creative ideation, versioning, production acceleration, localization, personalization, and efficiency at scale.
- Drive clarity on where GenAI augments people, automates tasks, or creates new creative possibilities.
- Partner with leaders across Creative, Operations, Engineering, Legal, Compliance, and Technology Transformation to set strategic direction.
- Requirements Gathering & User Story Development
- Collaborate with global producers, creatives, strategists, and studio teams to understand workflows and pain points.
- Translate needs into user stories, functional specs, and prioritized backlogs.
- Work closely with ML engineers, platform developers, and integration architects to refine requirements.
- Ensure features support both production scalability and creative quality.
- Product Delivery & Release Management
- Own sprint planning, backlog prioritization, acceptance criteria, and UAT for all GACE enhancements.
- Drive successful releases across multiple markets and agency teams, ensuring smooth onboarding and adoption.
- Coordinate with engineering to ensure the platform remains performant, secure, and reliable at enterprise scale.
- Ensure new models, capabilities, or features meet brand safety, data sensitivity, and Responsible AI standards.
- Platform Architecture & Integration (Non-technical leadership)
- Not expected to code — but must understand how systems connect.
- Partner with engineering to define how GACE integrates with asset management systems, workflow & routing tools, creative production platforms, existing CGI, video, automation or templating systems, and enterprise data sources.
- Ensure platform interoperability across WPP’s agency ecosystem.
- Contribute to model evaluation, fine-tuning, and content quality frameworks.
- Governance, Security & Responsible AI
- Ensure GACE adheres to WPP/WPP Production policies on AI usage, brand safety, copyright, and sensitive data handling.
- Help design safe-use guardrails, auditability, and ethical guidelines for generative content.
- Align with the Global Legal/Compliance teams to maintain enterprise-grade governance.
- Adoption, Change Management & User Enablement
- Partner with learning teams to develop training, onboarding, and best-practice documentation.
- Run demos, discovery sessions, and feedback loops with global teams.
- Build a community of “power users” to help drive continuous improvement.
- Track adoption metrics, usage patterns, and business value delivered by GACE.
- Performance Analytics & Continuous Improvement
- Define KPIs for the platform: throughput & speed gains, cost efficiencies, time-to-market improvements, accuracy, creative quality, and user satisfaction, model performance & reliability.
- Use data to drive backlog prioritization and to measure the impact of new capabilities.
- Maintain a feedback cycle across engineering, production, and creative teams.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- 6–12+ years in product management, product ownership, digital production, or intelligent automation.
- Hands‑on experience with AI‑driven platforms (LLMs, image/video generators, model orchestration, content workflows).

- Experience working with cross‑functional engineering teams (ML, platform, DevOps).
- Clear communication skills with the ability to translate technical capability into business value.
Preferred
- Experience within WPP, WPP Production, or large agency networks.
- Familiarity with AI orchestration engines, vector databases, prompt engineering, and guardrail frameworks.
