What does the Integrated Project Director, Commercial and Growth do at WPP Production? The Integrated Project Director, Commercial and Growth is a new global role created to accelerate and improve how WPP Production scopes new business opportunities. Sitting at the intersection of growth, commercial and production delivery, this role ensures that RFI and RFP responses are grounded in the right production strategy, the most efficient delivery model and the strongest commercial logic. The role exists to give commercial teams the clarity and time they need to build competitive pricing, while ensuring growth teams can confidently take forward a compelling and deliverable production solution. Working across multiple offices and disciplines, the Integrated Project Director will connect the right production expertise, challenge assumptions, pressure-test proposed solutions and help define the best way of working for each opportunity. This is an individual contributor role that succeeds through influence, collaboration and strong production judgement. The successful candidate will be a strong project lead, commercially astute, operationally credible and confident working across primary production, content origination, content amplification, adaptation, localisation, post-production and emerging AI-enabled production models.
Reporting lines and key stakeholders: Key stakeholders include New Business and Growth teams, Commercial and Finance teams, Production Delivery leads, Studio and Craft specialists, Operations teams and market leadership across WPP Production’s global network.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the scoping process for new business RFIs and RFPs, ensuring production requirements are clearly understood, interrogated and translated into a practical delivery approach.
- Partner with Commercial teams to provide timely, accurate and production-informed scope inputs that support competitive pricing, clear assumptions and commercially robust proposals.
- Coordinate across Production Delivery teams, studios and craft specialists to define how work would be delivered across primary production, content origination, content amplification, adaptation, localisation and post-production.
- Validate proposed operating and delivery models with Growth and New Business teams, ensuring the production approach supports the overall pitch strategy, client need and value proposition.
- Challenge proposed solutions where required, pushing for more efficient, scalable or higher-value ways of working that improve competitiveness without compromising quality or delivery confidence.
- Connect multiple offices and markets to build joined-up global solutions, ensuring roles, responsibilities, dependencies and handoffs are clear across complex multi-market opportunities.
- Improve the speed, consistency and quality of production scoping by identifying repeatable frameworks, assumptions, benchmarks and ways of working for future RFP responses.
- Ensure that production solutions reflect WPP Production’s full capability, including craft excellence, operational scale, technology, automation and AI-enabled approaches where appropriate.
Requirements:
- Proven understanding and application of project management principles and methodologies.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities, adept at overseeing multiple workstreams, schedules, and deliverables.
- Proactive approach to identifying and mitigating project risks.
- Deep understanding of the production landscape, with strong knowledge of primary production, content origination, content amplification, adaptation, localisation and post-production.
- Strong commercial judgement, with the ability to understand how scope, resource, delivery model and operational complexity affect pricing and client value.
- Proven ability to work across complex, matrixed global organisations, influencing senior stakeholders without direct line management authority.
- Excellent understanding of new business, RFI and RFP processes, including the pace, ambiguity and cross-functional collaboration required to deliver high-quality responses.
- Confident challenging assumptions and constructively pushing back on proposed solutions to ensure the strongest, most efficient and most competitive approach.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, fostering strong relationships and effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to simplify complex production considerations into clear recommendations and actionable scope inputs.
- Collaborative, pragmatic and solutions-focused, with the resilience and judgement to operate effectively in fast-moving, high-pressure commercial environments.
