What does a Global Financial Controller do at WPP Production?

• Manage core compliance and accounting functions across WPP Production, coordinating with local FDs/FCs and with local / regional CFOs.
• Ensure that monthly actuals are reported accurately and in accordance with group accounting policies and IFRS.
• Manage intercompany mismatches in accordance with newly implemented policy working with regional and local controllers to ensure mismatches are resolved and that transactions are recorded in accordance with the policy.
• Manage key Quarterly, Half-Year and Year-End submissions (Topsides, Late Adjustments, Letters of representation).
• Own, manage and develop WPP Production core global accounting policies.
• Oversee regional and worldwide key controls and policies.
• Implement new balance sheet reconciliation policy and perform quarterly balance sheet reviews for all regions.
• Liaise with WPP to ensure controls are robust and satisfy Group policies.
• Oversee all working capital management and reporting processes.
• Ensure tax compliance across the group working closely with WPP to ensure transfer pricing compliance and prepare and own global service fee allocations.
• Manage internal and external audits for regional and global controls.
• Work with management to establish, improve and monitor internal controls and business and accounting policies.
• Manage core approval processes and policies including travel, headcount, investment and capital expenditure.
• Assist with merger or acquisition activity (both WPP reorganisation and external including process and accounting integration as necessary) as well as transfers to/from WPP Production.

Requirements

• Financial Qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or Similar)
• Strong academic, creative problem-solving intellect
• Proven team-building skills, Effective leader, and Change agent
• Wide controllership experience and experience managing teams
• Excellent Excel skills
• Good written and verbal presentational skills and use of related tools
• Good financial systems knowledge
• Design, project management and implementation
• Strong foundational accounting capabilities
• Exposure to WPP reporting practices and tools advantage
• Completely comfortable in a complex international business
• Good internal networker / influencer
• Professional Accuracy, attention to detail
• Open honest and engaged
• Senior leadership experience
