About the Role
Are you a digital marketer with a passion for search, content, and creative strategy? Are you excited by how AI is changing the way people discover brands online? We are looking for an ambitious Senior Account Executive to join our SEO Performance Content Team. In this role, you will work closely with the Head of Performance Content to deliver organic search growth and authority. You will work across a prestigious portfolio of household names (including a global FMCG giant and leading brands across nutrition, pet care, and consumer goods) as well as supporting on other exciting client accounts.
What makes this role unique?
This role bridges the gap between technical search optimisation and creative brand building. In our team, Digital PR is highly strategic and built entirely on SEO data to drive organic authority. Rather than running transactional media outreach and pitching journalists yourself, your focus will be on the strategic end-to-end SEO process - from content roadmapping and copywriting to conceptualising link-earning campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
- SEO Content & Creation (approx. 70%)
- End-to-End Content Delivery: Support and work across the entire content lifecycle - from initial search data analysis and building out content strategy plans/roadmaps, to preparing briefs and writing copy.
- Copywriting & Creation: Write and edit high-quality, engaging, and SEO-friendly copy (from short-form landing pages to long-form articles) that aligns with clients’ brand guidelines.
- On-Page Optimisation: Review and optimise on-page content to ensure it is structured effectively for both search engines and emerging AI-search formats.
- Keyword & Trend Research: Use SEO tools to uncover search trends, conduct keyword research, and identify content gaps.
- Creative Campaign Support: Participate in brainstorms to help develop creative, link-earning Digital PR ideas designed to boost brand authority.
- Agency Coordination: Assist in briefing and coordinating with WPP partner agencies and external PR teams to ensure our search objectives are aligned.
- Backlink & Competitor Monitoring: Monitor client and competitor backlink profiles to identify fresh link-acquisition opportunities.
- AI & Search Tracking: Help the team track how the search landscape is evolving, keeping an eye on AI search developments.
- Account Coordination & Reporting
- Day-to-Day Support: Help manage timelines, deliverables, and communication between our team, client contacts, and external partners.
- Reporting: Assist in gathering data and compiling performance reports to demonstrate organic search and backlink growth.
What We Are Looking For (Skills & Experience)
- Experience: 1.5 to 3 years’ experience spanning both SEO/Content and Digital PR simultaneously (ideally within an agency environment).
- A solid SEO foundation: practical experience in keyword research, SEO strategy mapping, and understanding how backlinks build organic authority.
- Copywriting skills: a proven ability to write compelling, accurate, and on-brand copy. A keen eye for detail, grammar, and tone of voice is a must.
- Curiosity around AI & Tech: familiarity with AI tools, or experience in building custom AI agents, is highly beneficial (though training will be provided if not).
- Strong coordinator: excellent organisational skills, with a creative mindset and the ability to multitask across different brand portfolios.
- Communication: confident collaborator, comfortable working with internal teams, client contacts, and partner agencies.
- SEO Tools: experience with tools like SEMrush, Ahrefs, or Google Search Console.
