Role Summary and Impact

As the SVP Data Solutions Lead, you’ll own the development and delivery of a critical new capability that enables WPP Media clients to mobilise and unlock value from their first party data in media. Sitting within the UK Data Tech & Analytics team, you’ll be accountable for the delivery of Data Solutions including Private data network and Open intelligence itself in the UK and work as part of a cross WPP Media group spanning DTA, Partnerships, Investment, and our Technology Solutions teams to bring this to market and onboard clients. You will serve as the face of the Data solutions to internal teams and represent the capability in client sales engagements.

Key responsibilities

  • Own the design, delivery and roadmap for Open intelligence in the UK, managing across stakeholder groups in DTA/MMD/DTS and leadership to represent UK solutions.
  • Program lead the development of the Private data network and Open intelligence solutions across the UK and into global product teams to ensure UK requirements are being prioritized in the roadmap.
  • Define and socialise the strategy for data solutions and open intelligence alongside Data Partnerships on the priority, roadmap and onboarding cadence of new data partners.
  • Represent the solutions and WPP Media requirements in new partners discussions.
  • Establish commercial bundling opportunities for partners and clients with WPP owned/bought/licensed data opportunities across the martech landscape.
  • Collaborate with Investment and Media Solutions teams to define the commercial model for Open intelligence/PDN business and GTM for Practices and Media Solutions.
  • Partner with Data Strategy to create compelling marketing and training materials for PDN and Oi, socialise to client leadership community and upskill the data strategy community.
  • Support early-stage new business pitches, among agency leadership, and in client-facing meetings to represent our data solutions in the UK.
  • Ensure clear product marketing communications to internal stakeholders.
  • Establish governance and guardrails for data solutions capabilities across media solutions, practices and commercial viability across all data solutions and touchpoints.
  • Establish the UK enablement strategy into clients with collaboration with the broader global and local product and solutions teams.

Skills and Experience

  • 10+ years experience in data strategy, data partnerships, proprietary media within a media agency or related company (e.g. publisher, ad tech, client marketing org).
  • Strong client direct experience in value proposition and client benefit narratives, with the ability to create contextual client benefit for WPP Media.
  • Be the voice of clients for data solutions in the UK and how our local market nuances are represented and delivered through our WPP Open platform.
  • Experience designing and developing monetized data solutions in media.
  • Strong knowledge of UK data partner landscape, data monetization models, proprietary media products.
  • Experience helping set clear strategy, roadmapping, operationalizing solutions & organizing resources to deliver.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications style, in particular being able to translate non-technical use cases into technical requirements.
  • Strong influencing skills, able to represent and defend your data solutions with senior clients.
  • An ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams, and directly influence others to drive adoption of solutions and overcome upstream barriers to implementation.
  • Clear documentation and working playbooks on how and what is PDN is currently able to support and operationalize.
  • Delivery focused, solutions leader with a strong technical and client leadership background that can make commercial decisions with business context at the core.
