Role Summary and Impact
This role sits within the WPP Media UK FP&A team reporting into the FP&A Reporting Director. The role will work closely with the rest of the FP&A team as well as the UK business. Working as a key member of the WPP Media Finance team, the Senior Finance Analyst plays a pivotal role in producing insightful and relevant reporting for Senior Management to support key decision making. You will be assisting with Forecasting and Budgeting processes, providing support to stakeholders in the business and contributing to the overall enhancement of the FP&A function. The role will also support on key financial objectives that promote driving efficiencies within the team but also within the business. To be successful in this role, engagement with various parts of the business is required, often at different levels of seniority.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide continuous improvement in the Group’s budgeting and forecasting process, by standardizing the process across all agencies.
- Create and build a monthly and quarterly management pack by identifying key metrics to analyse and assess results and performance, that allow senior management with strategic decision making.
- Create financial models which analyse current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue and operating expenditure.
- Create, develop, and maintain reports/data within Adaptive and ensure accuracy across all operating units.
- Work collaboratively and analytically with senior members of the Financial Reporting team, commercial teams of the agencies, senior management and WPP Media EMEA.
- Action any queries during Forecasting/Budgeting processes.
- Assist with the Cartesis input on a monthly basis.
- Undertake ad-hoc reporting and analysis.
Skills and Experience
- Part qualified accountant or equivalent (e.g., CIMA, ACA, ACCA).
- Ability to interpret and manipulate data in a logical manner.
- Ability to concisely and clearly present information to financial and non-financial people.
- Workflow management, effective organisational and time management skills and ability to plan and prioritise.
Desirable:
- Previous knowledge of Cartesis.
- Proficient user of Excel.
- Previous experience with creating dashboards.
