Role Summary and Impact

This is a role in the finance team of WPP Media UK, reporting into the WPP Media UK Group FP&A Director. The role will work closely with the UK Trading Teams, UK Commercial Finance Team & Reporting Team.

The Role Objective

The primary objective is to support the Group FP&A Director and Trading Finance Director to create an efficient and effective FP&A functionality. Based in London, the aim is to improve the forecasting and budgeting process and develop a mechanism to provide key management information for the business. This is a hands-on role, running the numbers, owning the narrative & leading the team in continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with the Reporting team, ensure month end close is accurate & compliant.
  • Ensure Adaptive uploads across Trading & Media solutions are complete.
  • Review UK Trading Pillar submission.
  • Ensure high quality and timely monthly Management Information for distribution to Trading teams.
  • Support the Trading Director with Performance Tracking, update vs forecast comparatives & provide range of full year numbers with named dependencies.
  • Providing commentary covering Media Solutions Client Billings, Extraction rates, pipelines & insights into Risks & Opportunities (split Global & Local level).
  • Lead the business in delivery of formal global quarterly forecast and budget process, communicating timely processes, reports & guidance to all stakeholders.
  • Review & querying client level Billings variances, updating key reports for Media Solutions leadership team.
  • FPA Ownership of BFC GMUK Forecast Unit submission.
  • Business Partnering Trading & Nexus Commercial Director, ownership of the decks supporting the forecasting cycle, providing high level narrative & actions with clarity of the build & assumptions.
  • Work closely with Goat & T&P teams, ensuring delivery to all deadlines & bring closer to established UK ways of working.
  • Manage, support, and develop team members.
  • Continue to evolve structure as business demands change.
  • Utilise AI & tech advancements to continually improve outputs to business.
  • Work with central UK FPA teams on Adaptive, Trading Dashboards & support on QBR outputs.
  • Provide support on reconciliation with Global reporting.
  • Relationship management of key group Finance contacts across WPP Media Global & EMEA.

Skills and Experience

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
  • Ability to lead and influence key senior stakeholders across finance and the business – strong interpersonal skills required.
  • Solid communicator, team player, team management experience.
  • Excellent oral and written skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and investigative mind-set.
