Job Summary/Purpose: We have an exciting opportunity to join our newly evolved Global Growth team. Split out across two locations, London and New York, the London-based team will focus on international market opportunities and New York will focus on US-centric global prospects. As a Global Head of Growth, Data, Tools & Technology (DTT), you will work with several pitch squad teams, spearheading the design and delivery of latest data and technology solutions to win and retain key multi-market clients for the group. You will also be the specialist in the room for any new business pitches and use that experience to build and develop best in class case studies and growth stories for future new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • An entrepreneurial leadership role with a wide remit, reaching across WPP and WPP Open.
  • Core responsibilities include:
    • Strategic data, tech and tools leadership and presence on multi-market pitches and global prospecting.
    • Owning the overall DTT narrative across all written and presented materials.
    • Bringing together DTT content into a single narrative with strategy, working with key stakeholders in the different disciplines from across the group.
    • Collaborating across WPP to secure the right specialist talent to successfully respond to RFI and RFPs and design and orchestrate DTT written submission, presentation, deep dive meetings and deployment of WPP Open OS.
    • Optimizing the DTT story and approach to WPP Media’s planning processes and build and curate case studies.
    • Briefing, coaching and co-developing (where required) specialist market teams across multi-market pitches to ensure consistent, high calibre outputs and delivery of DTT.
    • Producing and co-producing detailed briefing documents for any commissioned data/product development requests.
    • Working with the Squad Lead, Director and Project Manager across multiple pitches, ensuring high standards of delivery.
    • Building and maintaining productive relations with Nexus, Choreograph and other WPP opcos to stay up to date with their talent, systems and innovations.
    • Helping refine and continually optimise the group and agency DTT propositions for new business purposes.
    • Supporting on ensuring the DTT content in WPP Media’s Way to Win’ is always up to date and market leading.
    • Upskilling of Growth & Marketing teams on all business critical DTT products and innovations.
    • Sharing relevant news and thought leadership with the wider squad teams worldwide and upskilling the Global Growth Community.

  • In the first 100 days, you would have:
    • Become fully accustomed to WPP & WPP Media data and technology corporate strategy and proposition.
    • Become fully accustomed to WPP & WPP Media primary tools and solutions.
    • Have developed the standard DTT model, and go to market sales approach, for application on all pitches worldwide.
  • In the first year, you would have:
    • Built a rich library of compelling DTT growth stories and thought leadership that can be repurposed for pitches.
    • Hosted high quality sessions and workshops for growth community – showcasing the latest technology solutions offered by the group and best DTT work from the network.
    • Successfully contributed towards the WPP Media annual new business targets and COMvergence rankings.
  • Ongoing, you will:
    • Continue to think of new and better ways to tell a ‘winning’ DTT pitch narrative that complements the wider strategic narrative.
    • Taking the lead on developing and improving new technology and tools to deliver ‘winning’ DTT proposition.
    • Drive an uptake of WPP Open with a specific focus on Media and Production tools and the integrated platform offering.
    • Actively contribute to new business targets and conversions.
    • Contribute to WPP Media and individual network growth targets.
    • Build the right connections across WPP to enhance our conversion success.
