The Analytics team are committed to building and delivering regular reporting and insight solutions for our clients, and to identify ways of utilizing emerging technologies and analytical techniques to drive growth.

The Analytics Director will work closely with the Head of Analytics, the Analytics team and wider client teams to manage and develop the ongoing delivery of relevant Reporting, Analytics, and Optimization solutions across WPP Media client requirements for Colgate Palmolive (CP). Key to success will be the appropriate use of technology and identification of new opportunities and potential solutions – particularly focusing on how media effectiveness contributes to an overall measurement framework for CP. The role will also require the ongoing management and development of Analytics team members where relevant – and the Analytics Director will help ensure the agency and our clients understand and appreciate the breadth of solutions the Analytics team can offer and the value we can add.

Skills and Experience

  • Work with CP to identify analytical requirements, solve challenges, and define and implement analysis roadmaps, acting as the primary analytics liaison for the agency and the client, providing CP stakeholders with actionable insights and recommendations through storytelling and visualization.
  • Become an expert in CPs business, systems and ways of working. Be the point of contact for CPs GIT and GDO teams for new workstreams and data pipelines and proactively identify future solutions where necessary.
  • Ensure Coordination and Collaboration across functions, markets and with the CP Client, working with Local Market Planning teams to develop, pilot, maintain and enhance a range of Business Intelligence projects ensuring outputs support measurement goals and drive business decisions.
  • Lead digital transformation initiatives to modernize data collection, processing, and analytics infrastructure, ensuring data accuracy through clear processes, data governance principles and appropriate technology, and foster collaboration across internal teams (activation, channel teams, and account management), to integrate analytics into all aspects of client engagement.
  • Develop templates, frameworks and automation processes for (primarily) Digital Data to enable a relevant, valuable and consistent understanding of media performance for CP.
  • Drive forward pilot projects, testing and case studies and share learnings and best practice across all markets.

Other Responsibilities

  • Become familiar with the existing Analytics toolset to utilize on client business, including data visualisation technologies (Power BI, Tableau, Datorama), reporting tools (Microsoft Excel, Looker Studio), data warehouse tools (Google BigQuery), measurement platforms (Google Campaign Manager and Google Analytics) and Effectiveness partners (both within WPP and externally).
  • Develop effective partnerships with key stakeholders within clients, WPP Media, WPP and other specialist companies to know exactly who to call on when required, and when to gain buy-in.
  • Help evolve the Analytics offering in areas including Forecasting, Attribution, Machine learning and use of AI to improve processes and solve problems.
  • Help develop an open, collaborative, progressive day to day culture within Analytics, WPP Media clients – sharing best practice, and teaching and empowering agency and client end users to leverage BI tools and reach actionable insights.
  • Ensure your direct reports are clear and confident on their goals & deliverables and are nurtured to fulfil their potential with regular development conversations, formal reviews and associated training plans, mentoring them to enhance technical expertise, analytical thinking, and client communication.

Required skills / experience:

  • Experience of working within a communications agency and/or client organisation – ideally International/multi market.
  • A problem solver with excellent senior client / stakeholder management & communication skills and attention to detail.
