Role Summary and Impact
We are searching for a bright, enthusiastic, and creative individual to join our OpenDoor team as Digital Planning Executive, MGM Theatrical. This is a full-time position based in London. This role sits within the central digital and biddable hub for MGM — a team built to lead innovation, platform governance, and scalable digital campaign delivery across global markets. The hub works closely with central data and tech teams, local activation teams, and media partners to drive consistency, shared standards, and improved performance at scale.
This is an exciting time to join the account. MGM's theatrical slate is one of the most ambitious in the industry, and this team is primarily tasked with leading central trailer and content breaks and pan-regional partnerships — bringing media-first opportunities and genuinely unique campaigns to life title by title, market by market.
The Digital Planning Executive role is perfect for someone with strong organisational skills who loves entertainment and movies, and who is eager to build their digital media career in one of the most dynamic and fast-paced corners of the industry. You will get direct exposure to clients, real relationships with key media partners, and genuine involvement in campaign ideation — all while being supported and developed by the Digital Planning Manager and Digital Lead. This role reports into the Digital Planning Manager.
Responsibilities
- Support the setup and trafficking of digital campaigns across paid social, programmatic, video, and display — maintaining accurate trackers, monitoring delivery, and flagging issues to the Digital Planning Manager promptly.
- Work with activation and ad ops teams to implement campaign requirements, ensuring all campaigns are booked and reconciled within deadlines.
- Support campaign QA and go-live processes, applying structured checks before launch and throughout delivery.
- Support the application of campaign taxonomy standards — ensuring naming conventions, campaign structures, and tagging hierarchies are correctly applied in every setup.
- Flag taxonomy inconsistencies to the Digital Planning Manager and help keep governance documentation current and accessible to all relevant teams.
- Build working relationships with key media partners, helping to ensure campaigns launch on time and run as planned.
- Support partner briefings, follow up on deliverables and timelines, and attend partner meetings to develop your understanding of their products and capabilities.
- Contribute recommendations and bring creative energy to campaign ideation alongside the Digital Planning Manager and Digital Lead.
- Support the development of digital media plans and activation guidance, growing your understanding of how channels and central trailer and content breaks work across theatrical release cycles.
- Develop direct client exposure through weekly calls and campaign performance reviews, supporting the preparation of updates and reporting.
- Respond to client queries accurately and in a timely manner, escalating to the Digital Planning Manager where needed.
- Work with the analytics team to deliver timely and accurate campaign reporting — maintaining trackers and ensuring data is correctly compiled and distributed.
- Develop your ability to interpret performance data and communicate what the numbers are telling you clearly.
- Support the Digital Planning Manager in coordinating with local markets.
Skills and Experience
- A genuine love of entertainment, movies, and the theatrical world — you are excited to work on a global movie slate and bring that passion to your work every day.
- Strong project management and organisational skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
- Curious about the digital media industry and eager to build expertise across biddable platforms, pan-regional partnerships, and campaign operations.
- A can-do, proactive, and positive attitude with a real desire to grow and progress.
- Enjoys being creative and thinks big — comfortable contributing recommendations and building on the thinking of others.
- Comfortable working with data and developing the ability to interpret and present campaign performance clearly.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to engage with clients and media partners.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office or Google Suite, particularly Excel/Sheets for tracking and reporting.
- Some media knowledge or experience is desirable — whether from a previous role, internship, or placement — but enthusiasm and attitude matter most.
Bonus Points
- Awareness of major digital platforms — Meta Ads Manager, Google/YouTube, TikTok Ads, DV360, or similar.
- Awareness of Amazon DSP (ADSP) and its application within entertainment and theatrical marketing.
- Exposure to ad trafficking, campaign management tools, or ad servers.
- Familiarity with WPP Open or similar workflow and project management platforms.
