Role Summary and Impact The Strategy Client Director is a senior strategic and commercial leader operating across Unilever Beauty and Wellbeing, FirstGroup (trains), and GROW Mindshare’s specialist brand growth unit. You will act as a trusted advisor to senior marketing leaders, founders and business stakeholders, ensuring communications strategy is directly aligned to growth ambition, investment priorities and long‑term value creation. Across Unilever Beauty and Wellbeing, you will support the organisation’s transformation toward building culturally relevant, meaningfully different brands, ensuring media plays a central role in driving desire and commercial impact. Within GROW, you will partner with founder‑led, start‑up and scale‑up businesses such as Wild, Liquid IV and Huel, helping them scale through the right balance of brand building and performance investment. For South Western Railway (part of First Group) you will help develop omnichannel media plans, focused on rebuilding passenger confidence and promoting leisure travel. This includes identifying data‑driven insights to enhance customer experience and optimise targeting across audience segments. You will also contribute to agency growth, supporting prospecting and new business conversations where relevant.

About the role Lead strategic responses with the account team to ensure high‑quality strategic and executional output. Ensure that the strategic approach is ‘full funnel’ and connected across consumer journey, capturing both short and long‑term outcomes and commercial impact. Develop an empathetic understanding of audiences to unlock insights that inform strategy. Work with teams to define a strategic approach to holistic measurement and testing. Focus on innovation by working with teams to develop and activate opportunities that align with client objectives. Proactively provide updates on emerging media innovations, opportunities, and changes in the media landscape. Seek opportunities to grow existing client scopes and services where relevant to drive business growth. Contribute to new business efforts as needed, engaging senior stakeholders with commercially credible strategic thinking.
