Role Summary and Impact

The primary role of the Partnerships Associate Director is to work to define and deliver cross channel, joint business partnership opportunities for some of our largest Global clients. This role will also work in tandem with Strategy leads and Account teams to identify relevant media partners, to then develop integrated investment strategies with, delivering best in class, progressive, strategic client partnerships. The Associate Director will work to support account Directors defining opportunities, briefs and leading day to day management of key client JBPs with media partners to maximise long term strategic partnership value and overall business outcomes for our clients. Cooperation and co-ordination with local and regional market teams will be central to this, to ensure a consistent approach and successful execution of the negotiated and defined value benefits. This role will require high levels of coordination and organization as it will involve management of a complex client and agency structure.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic and Leadership Skills
    • Work collaboratively with relevant client agency departments e.g. Global Planning, Activation, measurement, creative and client servicing to deliver innovative Global JBP opportunities.
    • Serve as global partnership day to day lead for client centric JBPs, working to identify, operationalise, co-create, and deliver best in market value and innovation for our brands.
    • Develop a strong understanding of media landscape working closely with cross channel Global partners, to ensure first mover opportunities are leveraged for clients.
    • Support in the development, negotiation, deployment and monitoring of Global JBPs across local and regional markets (per client structure) to ensure targets are met and value is unlocked.
  • Client Account Management
    • Demonstrate an ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, global media vendors, agency network and internal strategy teams, to drive collaboration and best in class delivery.
    • Develop and sell partnerships persuasively and with confidence, passion and enthusiasm to both clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Operating and Technical Requirements
    • Deliver best in class JBPs ensuring client value, innovation and excellence are delivered.
    • Support in the development of a global integrated investment strategy and then actively work with regional and local leads to deploy in markets, adapting as needed.
    • Partner with global lead on media quality processes and governance and ensure same rigor applied to all media.
    • Maintain bi-weekly partner statuses and overall JBP governance ensuring workstreams are delivered and that there is relevant cross business engagement and utilization of programs, their benefits and overall value.
    • Proactively share global marketplace updates and work with markets to do the same with regular cadence.
    • Manage day to day vendor spend tracking and pacing requirements against agreed JBPs on key client ensuring correct framework is in place to hit spend thresholds across regions and markets.
    • Brief and manage set up of client QBR and JBP reviews coordinating with regions and markets where required.
    • Operationalise quarterly leadership document development for clients ensuring best in class results and cross business case study sharing, outcome tracking and value extraction is highlighted.
  • People/Team Management
    • Support day to day leadership requests from Partnerships Director and Global Head of Strategic Partnership lead.
    • Develop relationships with both clients as well as internally at across agencies and WPP Media teams, to ensure integration opportunities and relevant problem solving when needed.
    • Build trusted relationships with media vendors across key accounts.
