Why we’re hiring: WPP is at the forefront of one of the most significant transformations in the marketing and advertising industry. We are evolving our Enterprise Technology capabilities—bringing together over 2,500 technology professionals into a single, integrated global organisation. This team is central to enabling the continued transformation of our agencies and corporate functions. As part of this journey, WPP is undertaking a major multi-year programme to simplify and modernise its technology landscape, including consolidating multiple CRM platforms into a globally governed Microsoft Dynamics solution. This transformation is critical to:
- Improving client and pipeline visibility
- Strengthening data quality and reporting
- Enabling AI- and data-driven commercial workflows
- Reducing cost, complexity, and duplication across agencies
To support this, we are hiring a CRM Functional Lead / Product Owner to drive functional leadership across the global CRM platform. This role will:
- Own and govern functional decision-making
- Prevent divergence and unnecessary local customisation
- Ensure business requirements are translated consistently into delivered capabilities
- Maximise value realisation from WPP’s global CRM investment
The CRM Functional Lead / Product Owner will own the functional vision, design, and backlog for WPP’s Global CRM Programme, which is consolidating multiple legacy solutions into a single, enterprise-wide Microsoft Dynamics platform. Operating at the intersection of business, design, and technology, this role translates business strategy, global CRM processes, and market needs into a clear, prioritised product roadmap—balancing global standardisation with controlled local flexibility. Within a complex, multi-agency environment, the role acts as the single point of accountability for what the CRM does, ensuring all functional decisions align with business priorities, design standards, and delivery constraints.
What you’ll be doing:
- Own the functional vision and roadmap for the Global CRM platform, aligned to programme objectives and enterprise governance
- Act as Product Owner for Microsoft Dynamics CRM, managing and prioritising the global functional backlog across markets, agencies, and release phases
- Lead the definition of global CRM processes, user journeys, roles, and functional standards in partnership with business stakeholders and the CRM Design Authority
- Evaluate and shape requests for market, agency, or client-specific variations, ensuring alignment with agreed guardrails and enterprise standards
- Partner closely with technology delivery teams and system integrators to ensure functional requirements are feasible, well-designed, and delivered to a high standard
- Provide clear functional input into release planning, prioritisation, sequencing, and trade-off decisions
- Support change, training, and adoption activities by ensuring functional designs are clear, consistent, and well communicated
- Act as a key escalation point for functional scope, prioritisation, and design decisions across the programme
What you’ll need:
- Proven experience as a Product Owner or Functional Lead on large-scale, global CRM or enterprise SaaS implementations
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Dynamics CRM capabilities and configuration-led delivery models
- Experience operating in complex, decentralised or multi-business organisations, balancing global standards with local needs
- Ability to translate business strategy and process requirements into clear, prioritised functional backlogs
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing senior business and technology leaders
- Comfort operating in ambiguity, managing competing priorities, and making pragmatic trade-off decisions
- A delivery-focused mindset with strong attention to detail and outcomes
- Experience working with systems integrators and external delivery partners
