ABOUT THE ROLE

We are searching for a talented and enthusiastic individual to join our OpenDoor team as a Data Excellence Executive. This is a full-time, hands-on position, focused on the execution and operational aspects of data quality. This role plays a crucial part in supporting WPP's mission to deliver consistency, delivery excellence and best-in-class service for Amazon in every country across its diverse businesses, including XCM, Prime Video, and RMI, by ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our data.

As a Data Excellence Executive, you will be a key individual contributor, responsible for performing data quality checks, identifying discrepancies, and supporting the implementation of data governance processes. You will work closely with other team members to maintain high data standards and contribute to the overall data integrity of OpenDoor, all while aligning with Amazon’s Leadership Principles.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Data Quality Execution & Monitoring: Oversee the timely creation and distribution of comprehensive dashboards that provide visibility into the state of data quality across various datasets. Implement key quality metrics and accuracy checks, ensuring data is reliable, consistent, and fit for purpose. Proactively identify, investigate, and address data quality issues within your scope, escalating quickly when needed. Thoroughly investigate data discrepancies, understanding the root cause of issues rather than just correcting symptoms. Ensure all personal data quality checks and reports adhere strictly to defined standards, identifying and preventing known data defects from progressing.
  • Process Support & Documentation: Actively contribute to the documentation of issue resolutions with OpenDoor Local Teams & Data Refreshes. Contribute to the documentation of Creative taxonomy & implementation rollout plans. Collaborate with data engineers to automate the gathering and processing of data quality metrics. Promptly identify, investigate, and address data quality issues within their scope, escalating quickly when needed.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration: Engage with stakeholders proactively to address poor data quality root causes and recommend improvements. Engage cross-function teams in the importance of data excellence and uplift data literacy across the business. Consistently deliver accurate and reliable data quality work, communicating progress and challenges transparently to team members and stakeholders. Actively seek to understand the data needs of immediate internal stakeholders (e.g., reporting teams, analysts) and ensure delivered data is accurate, timely, and fit for their purpose.
  • Learning & Self-Development: Actively seek to learn new data quality tools, techniques, and underlying data structures, asking clarifying questions to deepen understanding. Look for opportunities to streamline personal data quality checks or reporting processes, suggesting simple improvements to improve efficiency. Consistently deliver accurate data quality assessments and reports, double-checking work and seeking feedback to ensure reliability. Contribute positively to team morale and collaboration, actively seeking to support teammates and fostering a respectful work environment. Understand the broader impact of data quality on Amazon's operations and reputation, ensuring data handling aligns with ethical considerations.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in database management systems and query languages (i.e., SQL). Ability to prepare and present data quality reports and insights using visualization tools like Power BI.
  • Data Validation & Quality: Expertise in data validation, cleansing, and quality assurance methodologies to maintain high data standards.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to identifying and resolving data discrepancies, with a focus on accuracy and reliability.
  • Communication: Clear written and verbal communication skills for articulating technical topics to non-technical stakeholders and internal teams.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to investigate data issues, identify root causes, and propose initial solutions.
  • Collaboration: Strong team player, eager to learn and contribute to a collaborative working environment.
  • Foundational Knowledge: A strong grasp of business processes, ensuring data quality aligns with organizational strategy and delivers business value.
