Wavemaker, EssenceMediacom, Mindshare, and T&P are our agency teams; these house multiple local and global clients. The Director / Manager, Yield Management for WPP Media UK will be responsible for optimising yield across WPP Media Solutions, contributing to and implementing strategies that drive profitability and growth. This role is integral to supporting the WPP Media UK vision and ensuring commercial excellence. A key aspect of this will involve the management and strategic application of pricing models. Due to the highly analytical nature of this role, this individual will apply deep analytical skills to support commercial and technical projects, leveraging WPP's data and AI capabilities. This includes developing, maintaining, and enhancing robust reporting mechanisms and interactive Power BI dashboards to measure and benchmark performance across markets and products. This role is crucial in ensuring a commercial lens is applied to strategic initiatives from inception to delivery, using analytical insights and commercial levers to drive diligent evaluation, optimise business performance, and ensure ongoing success within the framework of WPP's Vision '30 in the UK market.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and implement yield management strategies that align with WPP Media UK's business objectives and drive net sales growth for WPP Media Solutions.
- Lead the management and optimisation of pricing across WPP Media Solutions, encompassing both dynamic and fixed pricing models to maximise revenue and market competitiveness.
- Foster collaboration and best practices amongst yield management professionals and cross‑functional teams to ensure effective execution of strategies across the UK market (working with global markets).
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (commercial finance/ investment planning/ commercial supply operations) and agency leadership within the UK to identify opportunities for revenue growth and optimisation, leveraging WPP's collective intelligence.
- Leverage WPP's data and AI capabilities to analyse market trends, performance data, and competitive landscapes specifically for the UK market, informing pricing decisions, revenue forecasts, and strategic adjustments in the context of yield management.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders, including agency leadership and product teams, effectively communicating yield insights and strategies relevant to the UK.
- Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive performance dashboards and reports, with expert proficiency in Power BI, to monitor key performance indicators related to revenue, yield management, and pricing performance across UK operations.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement in yield management processes and systems, actively supporting their implementation in line with WPP's commitment to technology and AI.
Requirements / Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in yield management, pricing management, revenue operations, or a similar analytical role within the UK media or advertising industry.
- Demonstrable experience with different pricing models, including dynamic and fixed pricing strategies, and their application in a commercial media environment.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a proven ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable strategies within a large, dynamic organisation like WPP Media UK.
- Expert proficiency in data visualisation and reporting tools, specifically Power BI, with extensive experience in designing, building, and maintaining interactive dashboards for performance monitoring and stakeholder consumption.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly, articulate recommendations, and influence stakeholders at various levels across WPP's diverse ecosystem in the UK.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a cross‑functional team environment, managing multiple priorities effectively and contributing to shared goals.
- Experience with advertising technology and programmatic buying is a significant advantage.
