The Business Director, Global Amazon Lead is a key leadership role within WPP Media's Global Commerce Practice, responsible for driving Amazon excellence across Unilever's global business. Working closely with senior Unilever stakeholders, local agency teams, Amazon Ads and WPP specialists, you will lead the development of Unilever's Amazon strategy, best practices and capability roadmap. You will help brands unlock growth through best-in-class retail media, audience activation, measurement and innovation across Amazon's advertising ecosystem.
This role requires a unique blend of strategic leadership and hands-on expertise. The successful candidate will be equally comfortable shaping long-term growth strategies with senior stakeholders as they are reviewing campaign performance, identifying optimisation opportunities and applying deep platform knowledge to solve business challenges. Reporting to the Global Commerce Lead, you will act as the global centre of excellence for Amazon, helping markets adopt new capabilities, scale best practices and maximise the impact of commerce media investments.
Responsibilities
- Lead Amazon strategy for Unilever globally, defining the roadmap, priorities and best practices across markets and brands.
- Serve as the senior Amazon subject matter expert, advising stakeholders on growth opportunities, media effectiveness and emerging capabilities.
- Drive excellence across Amazon's advertising ecosystem, including Sponsored Ads, DSP, AMC, Prime Video and measurement solutions.
- Partner closely with Amazon Ads and key technology providers, including Pacvue and Skai, to accelerate innovation and performance.
- Develop global frameworks, playbooks and governance models that improve consistency and effectiveness across markets.
- Support local teams on planning, optimisation, measurement and capability development.
- Translate data, insights and industry trends into actionable recommendations that drive measurable business outcomes.
- Build strong relationships across Unilever, Amazon and WPP teams, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing across the network.

You combine strategic thinking with technical expertise, understanding how Amazon's advertising, audience and measurement capabilities can drive business growth. You are comfortable navigating complex stakeholder environments and have a proven ability to influence clients, agency teams and platform partners alike. Essential Criteria
- Significant experience in retail media, commerce media, performance marketing or digital advertising.
- Deep expertise across Amazon's advertising ecosystem, including Sponsored Ads, DSP and Amazon Marketing Cloud (AMC).
- Strong understanding of retail media measurement, attribution, audience strategy and performance optimisation.
- Experience working directly within Amazon Ads Console and applying platform insights to business challenges.
- Proven ability to develop strategic recommendations that deliver measurable growth.
- Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience navigating complex, matrixed organisations and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Excellent presentation and storytelling skills.
- Proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with a bias for action.
- Experience working on/around Amazon platforms.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience working on global FMCG businesses, ideally on a comparable multinational beauty/wellness brands.
- Experience operating across global, regional and local market structures.
- Hands-on experience with AMC, Pacvue, Skai or similar commerce technology platforms.
