Role Overview:

The Global Client Strategy Director is a critical leadership role within WPP Media Solutions, responsible for spearheading the strategic partnership with our global clients and their agency networks. This individual will act as the primary strategic liaison, driving the adoption and effective utilization of WPP Media Solutions' offerings across various markets. You will be instrumental in translating client business objectives into addressable media strategies, ensuring global operational consistency, and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional client management skills, a deep understanding of programmatic advertising, and a proven ability to drive growth in a global context.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Agency & Market Management:
    • Serve as a dedicated and trusted point of contact for key agency partners, Global client leads, and the Global Investment community.
    • Proactively manage and coordinate efforts across markets, collaborating closely with both regional and local WPP Media Solutions market colleagues to ensure seamless execution and consistent strategy.
    • Develop a thorough understanding of clients' overarching business objectives, identify key decision-makers, and work in close partnership with agencies to proactively overcome any blockers to the full utilization of the WPP Media Solutions suite.
    • Act as a strategic programmatic advisor for both WPP Media Solutions' internal teams and local agency partners, championing global operational excellence, consistency, and best practices.
    • Be responsible for assembling and orchestrating multidisciplinary experts from across the WPP Media Solutions organization, fostering a cohesive team approach to address and deliver on complex client challenges.
  • Reporting & Performance Monitoring:
    • Track and report on global investment performance, closely monitor key metrics, and prepare comprehensive aggregated reports that provide actionable insights to clients and internal stakeholders.
    • Actively contribute to various agency Pacing meetings and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), presenting strategic updates, performance insights, and future recommendations.
  • Education & Innovation:
    • Strategically manage and evolve the agency Education Program, aligning WPP Media Solutions' innovations with agency needs to drive continuous learning, capability enhancement, and the adoption of cutting-edge solutions.

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience working in client-facing, strategic, and/or business-development role(s) within the media, advertising, or technology sectors.
  • Proven track record in business development with demonstrable success in driving client growth, revenue monitoring, and expansion of strategic partnerships.
  • Experience working across multiple international markets is beneficial, showcasing an understanding of diverse market dynamics and cultural nuances.
  • Understanding of agency and client stakeholder management, including experience navigating complex organizational structures and influencing key decision-makers.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with wider internal teams and build robust, lasting relationships with external partners.
  • Creative approach to problem-solving, coupled with the ability to maintain a strategic "big picture" view while also demonstrating meticulous attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams without direct reporting lines.
  • Experience in programmatic advertising, ad-tech, and the broader digital media landscape is essential.
