Our UK Analytics capabilities are central to our success, empowering WPP Media’s clients with a full range of Analytics services that deliver tangible impact. This role sits within the broader WPP Media Analytics structure, drawing on the specialist expertise of Modelling, Analytics Consultancy, and Data Science & Solutions teams.
Position Overview The Analytics Manager, Government will be a hands-on analytical professional within the dedicated team supporting the UK Government account. This role is crucial for executing various measurement activities, from data analysis and insight generation to presenting findings to clients and internal teams. The Manager will be deeply involved in ensuring that effectiveness is a core consideration throughout the media planning and activation process for government campaigns. This position requires strong analytical capabilities, a clear understanding of research methodologies, and the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for diverse government stakeholders.
- Client Leadership: Liaise with key stakeholders throughout the measurement process, including suppliers and internal WPP teams, to ensure seamless project delivery for UK Government clients. Present analytical insights back to clients and agency teams in a clear, concise, and compelling manner. Serve as a key contact for clients and internal colleagues on assigned projects, building relationships and acting as a trusted advisor on analytical matters.
- Strategic Measurement & Delivery: Help to analyse diverse data sets and draw useful conclusions from the insight, presenting these conclusions most appropriately for government objectives. Complete regular measurement audits of client's current capabilities and prioritise recommendations for future improvements to measurement setup based on effort vs. return. Ensure that measurement and effectiveness are actively considered at all stages of the planning process for government campaigns, from strategy development through to activation. Work with activation teams to design and execute tests/experiments to understand granular channel performance across multiple locales for government initiatives. Collaborate with planning and activation teams to ensure the learnings from previous analysis are effectively fed back into future planning cycles. Develop a strong understanding of measurement tools and techniques available to comprehensively assess performance. Develop an understanding of the drivers of performance beyond marketing levers to provide a broader view on the most effective approach to maximise client performance.
- Commercial Growth & Innovation: Apply a commercial mindset to research and analytical projects, working within client budgets and identifying suitable suppliers for commercial support. Build an understanding of cutting-edge measurement tools and techniques, actively exploring and applying them to deliver enhanced insights for government clients.
- Team Leadership & Development: Actively participate in relevant industry bodies (e.g., Media Research Group) and attend training and events where applicable to foster continuous learning and professional growth. Collaborate effectively with other analytics team members, sharing knowledge and best practices.
Nice To Haves: A Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, economics, or marketing. Proven experience in marketing effectiveness, media measurement, or advanced analytics, preferably within an agency environment. Strong understanding of research and insight tools and methodologies (both quantitative and qualitative) to suggest approaches and draw conclusions. Ability to serve as an expert on how analytical tools and methods are applied to meet a client’s or team’s needs, and can recommend an appropriate approach. Knowledge of key measurement methodologies including marketing mix modelling, qualitative & quantitative research, and digital attribution. An analytical mindset, capable of identifying the story behind data and drawing useful conclusions that are presented back in a clear and appropriate manner. Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal. Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Experience with measurement of behaviour change would be beneficial.
