Role Summary and Impact International Media Manager working with NBCUniversal’s Universal Pictures International division, responsible for releasing films in cinema across the EMEA region. The role is based at Universal Pictures International (UPI) at Central St Giles and WPP Media at One Southwark Bridge.
Responsibilities include aligning media plans with strategy and driving high‑profile film releases such as The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, Spielberg’s Disclosure Day, Minions & Monsters, and Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey.
- Client Service Client servicing & agency network management – regular contact with EMEA client, local client and local agency teams. Oversee end‑to‑end planning cycle with local teams through coordination and managing key reporting deliverables. Bring new thinking, insight and ideas to the table and identify ongoing opportunities to optimise processes. Share and re‑apply work and best practices across Universal and the wider agency.
- Network Management Plan checking for EMEA markets: first review of each plan, summarise approach and discuss any red flags with EMEA title lead. Regularly liaise with central agency teams in LA and London to ensure seamless flow of information – helping synchronise local media around central campaigns, looking for opportunities, deduplicate clashes and ensure optimal use of media budgets. Reporting: maintain ongoing view of local campaigns, contribute to key reporting outputs such as EMEA title one‑pagers.
- Planning & Media Maintain relationships with key platforms and other relevant media players. Arrange introductions, contribute to inspiration sessions for markets. Help with ideation, planning and activation of (Ad Hoc) EMEA media buys; take active part in brainstorms for broader EMEA marketing initiatives.
- Strategy & Research Provide updates on regional media landscape shifts, new advertising opportunities, competitor campaigns and notable media executions. Help build POVs on strategic approaches and media opportunities. Run consumer research using key audience insight tools – TGI, YouGov and Audience Origins. Competitive spend & creative reporting on key releases to provide competitor insights.
Key Skills and Experience Genuine enthusiasm for film and entertainment. Proven experience working across all media channels, preferably on a multi‑market basis. Strong understanding of media planning theory, consumer media behaviours and landscapes. Understanding of international cultural nuances and effective communication with non‑UK based teams. Strong analytical thinker with strategic skills. Excellent project management skills – able to prioritise workload and workstreams based on wider priorities. Good communication skills – able to persuade multiple stakeholders. Driven and positive attitude. True team player who enjoys building relationships with clients and colleagues around the world. Experience with key planning and insight tools – TGI, Comscore, Addynamix, YouGov, etc. Excellent attention to detail and ability to interrogate data. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and adapt to shifting priorities.
Key Experience Film or entertainment experience is a big plus. Experience managing senior stakeholders & complex client organisations. Media planning & communications planning experience.
