Are you a Healthcare professional who is looking for a fresh and exciting new career with an award-winning Private Health Insurer? As a result of our continued success and growth, we are looking to expand our Clinical Team.

Starting Salary from £31,000 rising to £34,500 on successful completion of probation, plus generous benefits that translates to a total reward package after probation of over £36,000. The role is full time 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, however flexible working patterns can be considered. The role is based in our office on Blackbrook Business Park in Taunton, TA1 2PE.

The team and role

The Clinical Team has a variety of healthcare and clinical experience, including paramedics, radiographers and nurses. Together we are able to provide exceptional support to customers who have been diagnosed with complex medical conditions, such as cancer. The team provide a single point of contact for our customers to discuss their ongoing treatment as we support them through their treatment journey. We also liaise with healthcare professionals and hospitals to ensure we have the information needed to support these complex medical claims.

About you

Are you a healthcare professional with experience working in the healthcare sector or have a relevant clinical qualification (e.g. undergraduate or postgraduate in life sciences, nursing, paramedic or physiotherapy) or significant clinical experience (e.g. pharmaceutical or theatre technician)? This is a fantastic opportunity for you to utilise and retain your skills and experience, to help support our customers and their families when they need us the most.

The successful candidate will have a willingness to act as front-line support to our customers via all communication channels, including email and telephone with some of the main aspects of the role including:

  • Being a part of the customer pathway, proactively reviewing the eligibility for the customer to make use of their health policy in line with their policy cover.
  • Signposting where required to enable access to other eligible services.
  • Use clinical skills to make informed decisions on highly complex treatment eligibility e.g. levels of care, hospital length of stay and treatment options.
  • Work proactively with providers to ensure care is appropriate to need and eligible under the customers policy.
  • Maintain up to date and accurate knowledge of current best practice and clinical guidelines.
  • Support front line business areas where there are clinically complex cases to provide clinical case management support.
  • Maintain up to date and accurate knowledge of appropriate WPA products, policies, and initiatives to ensure that all queries are answered accurately.
  • Able to carry out medical research to support claim decisions and ensure current and accurate evidence to support claims advice.
