Industry: civil engineering

Location: Isle of Wight

Hours: 7:30 am – 4:30 pm (39 hours per week, overtime may be required/available)

Days: Monday – Friday

Duration: immediate start – ongoing

Duties:

  • Groundswork and civil engineering duties, operation of machinery power and hand tools, drainage, concreting, kerbing/block laying and tarmacking.
  • Manual handling duties, unloading and loading vehicles, driving, vehicle checks and reporting maintenance.
  • Adherence to health and safety and highways regulations, technical specifications, and quality standards.

Experience:

  • Must have a good level of previous groundswork experience including hand lay tarmac.
  • Must have a full driver’s licence; 7.5 tonne (C1) driving licence preferred.
  • Street works and NPORS plant operator tickets an advantage.
  • Must be physically fit, due to the nature of the duties.
  • Must be able to work well as part of a team, outdoors, in all weathers, with good health and safety awareness.

Salary: £13.38 per hour worked, rates increase after 12 weeks. Overtime paid at time and a half. PAYE.
