Overview
Industry: civil engineering
Location: Isle of Wight
Hours: 7.30am - 4.30pm (39 hours per week, overtime may be required/available)
Days: Monday - Friday
Duration: immediate start - ongoing
Duties
- Groundswork and civil engineering duties
- Operation of machinery power and hand tools
- Drainage, concreting, kerbing/block laying and tarmacking
- Manual handling duties, unloading and loading vehicles
- Driving, vehicle checks and reporting maintenance
- Adherence to health and safety and highways regulations, technical specifications and quality standards
Experience / Qualifications
- Must have good level of previous groundswork experience including hand lay tarmac
- Must have a full driver’s license, 7.5 tonne (C1) driving license preferred
- Street works and NPORS plant operator tickets an advantage
- Must be physically fit, due to the nature of the duties
- Must be able to work well as part of a team, outdoors, in all weathers, with good health and safety awareness
Salary
Salary: £13.38 per hour worked, rates increase after 12 weeks. Overtime paid at time and a half.
