Duties:
- To operate and carry out day-to-day maintenance of grass and hedge cutting machinery, hand and power tools.
- Cutting and clearing hedges and rough verges.
- Felling of small trees, tree branches and cutting and removal of fallen trees.
- Installation/fitting of signs and sign posts.
- Installation and maintenance of stiles, gates, bridges, steps and all types of fencing.
- Construction and maintenance of paths and drainage systems, ditches and clearance.
- Assist in the removal of debris in the event of storms or flooding.
- Carry out vehicle and plant maintenance checks.
- Ensure all works are carried out in adherence to health and safety.
Experience:
- Must have a good level of experience in garden or grounds maintenance including tree work and carpentry; previous countryside maintenance experience is an advantage.
- Relevant qualifications/tickets are preferred and an advantage.
- Must have a sound understanding of health and safety and a full driver’s license.
- Must be physically fit and able to walk up to 6 miles per day and undertake manual handling duties in all weather conditions.
- Must be organised with good communication skills and the ability to work well on own initiative as well as part of a team, to instructions.
Salary: £16.80 per hour worked PAYE
