Overview
Fitter-Multi – Industry: Property Maintenance. Location: Ryde, Isle of Wight. Hours: 40 hours per week plus out of hours call out on a rota basis. Days: Monday – Friday plus out of hours call out on a rota basis. Duration: Permanent.
Responsibilities
- Undertake a variety of planned and responsive works in both occupied and void, residential and commercial properties.
- End-to-end kitchen, bathroom, and wet room upgrades, including strip-out, first-fix and second-fix plumbing and carpentry, floor and wall preparation, tanking/waterproofing, tray former setting, sanitaryware installation, tiling, trims/sealant, commissioning, and handover.
- Carpentry works including door sets and linings, first and second fix, kitchen unit installation and worktop fitting with mitred joints.
- Plumbing works including reactive repairs, bathroom refurbishments, pipework alterations, press-fit and traditional jointing, isolation/commissioning, and rainwater goods.
- Multi-trade tasks including ceramic wall tiling and minor decorative and basic carpentry tasks linked to upgrades and repairs.
- Fire door remedials and full installations to a competent standard, including frames/linings, intumescent and smoke seals, hinges, closers, letterplates, signage and final adjustments.
- Update and maintain records of work including materials and photographic evidence, keeping customers and the office updated on progress and any disruption.
- Ensure adherence to Health & Safety using RAMS and appropriate PPE.
- Maintain tools, plant, and equipment in safe working order.
Experience and Qualifications
- Must have a minimum of NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) qualifications in Carpentry or Plumbing.
- Must have extensive experience of plumbing and carpentry within residential maintenance, including kitchen, bathroom and wet room refurbishments.
- Experience of working within educational environments and UPVC door and window repairs is an advantage.
- Must have a full driver’s license.
- The role will be subject to a DBS clearance.
Salary and Application
Salary: £37,000 per annum plus call out premium.
