The team is known for advising on complex, high-value, cross-border restructuring matters, special situations, insolvency-related disputes, and structured private capital transactions.

This is an excellent opportunity for a junior restructuring lawyer to join one of the market’s most sophisticated and internationally integrated restructuring practices. The London Corporate Restructuring team advises companies, boards of directors, sponsors, creditors, creditor groups, acquirers, and other stakeholders across the full spectrum of in-court and out-of-court restructuring transactions. The group has a particular focus on large-scale, complex, cross-border mandates and regularly works alongside leading teams across the firm’s U.S. restructuring, M&A, private equity, dispute resolution, debt finance, and capital markets practices.

You’ll be joining a collaborative and high-performing team with a strong track record of advising on some of the most significant restructuring transactions and insolvency-related proceedings in the market.

You will:

  • Advise on a broad range of corporate restructuring, insolvency, and special situations matters.
  • Work on complex, high-value, cross-border restructuring transactions, both in and out of court.
  • Support companies, boards, sponsors, creditors, creditor groups, acquirers, and other stakeholders involved in distressed situations.
  • Assist with insolvency-related disputes and contentious restructuring matters.
  • Work closely with colleagues across international offices and practice groups, including corporate restructuring, M&A, private equity, dispute resolution, debt finance, and capital markets.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate key transaction documents and provide clear, commercially focused legal advice.
  • Take on a high level of responsibility within a supportive, team-oriented environment.
  • Develop sophisticated strategies to help deliver innovative solutions and enhanced value for clients.

The role is based in London and offers exposure to complex domestic and international mandates from an early stage.

Experience & Skills

  • 1–2 years’ relevant post-qualification experience in corporate restructuring, insolvency, special situations, or related transactional work.
  • Experience gained in the London market or a comparable common law jurisdiction.
  • Candidates with slightly less or more relevant experience will also be considered on their merits.
  • Strong written communication, drafting, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, sound judgement, and commercial awareness.
  • Confidence taking ownership of workstreams and handling a high degree of responsibility.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively across teams, offices, and practice groups.
  • Experience on cross-border restructuring, distressed M&A, creditor-side mandates, debtor-side mandates, insolvency proceedings, or restructuring disputes would be highly advantageous.
