W&P Legal Recruitment is assisting a global leader in telecommunications and satellite technology with the search for an experienced Commercial Legal Counsel to support their expanding operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer with experience across both private practice and in-house environments.
This is a flexible, primarily remote role with occasional travel to offices in the South East, offering the opportunity to work on cutting-edge legal and commercial matters. You will be involved in drafting, negotiating, and advising on a wide range of commercial agreements and legal risk areas, acting as a trusted adviser to business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including service, licensing, technology, SaaS, and partnership contracts.
- Collaborate with a number of business and operations teams to support business growth and innovation.
- Advise on wider legal areas including data protection (GDPR), intellectual property, marketing compliance, and regulatory risk.
- Work closely with the General Counsel on a number of key projects including developing a global IP strategy.
- Develop internal legal processes, templates, and best practices.
- Manage and liaise with external counsel where necessary.
- Qualified solicitor in England & Wales with circa 4+ years’ PQE.
- Trained at a top-tier law firm, ideally within a TMT or commercial team.
- Strong in-house legal experience, either through a secondment or permanent role.
- Broad commercial contracts experience and sound understanding of technology-related legal issues.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to balance risk with business goals.
- Comfortable working autonomously in a flexible, fast-paced environment.
