W&P Partners Recruitment is working with a growing technology-focused organisation to appoint a commercially minded Legal Counsel to join its expanding in-house Legal team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a 3+ PQE solicitor/lawyer with strong commercial contracts and technology experience to take on a broad in-house role with significant responsibility, international exposure and regular interaction with senior stakeholders.
The Role
Based in Milton Keynes, you will have responsibility for a broad range of commercial and strategic legal matters, including:
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts and customer agreements
- Advising on SaaS, software licensing, technology agreements and IP matters
- Supporting product teams on legal and regulatory requirements
- Providing advice on data protection, privacy, information governance and emerging regulation, including AI and digital health
- Partnering with Sales, Product, Operations, HR and Marketing teams on commercial matters
- Supporting corporate compliance and company secretarial activities
- Developing legal templates, guidance materials and processes
- Managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, growing technology environment
- Working with international teams and stakeholders across the organisation
- Travelling internationally to the organisation's overseas offices as required
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Qualified solicitor/lawyer with 3+ years' post-qualification experience
- Strong experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts
- Experience within a commercial technology, IT, TMT or SaaS environment
- Experience working with international stakeholders or within a multinational organisation would be advantageous
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to provide pragmatic, commercially focused advice
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- The ability to work independently and manage a varied workload
- Willingness and ability to undertake international travel to support the organisation's overseas offices
